Ali MacGraw
Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is an American animal rights advocate, writer also a model, actor and author. She has been acclaimed for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) and The Getaway, (1972). Growing up in a family of artists in New York she wished to be a part of the arts. Her first job was as a photographer's assistant and then moved on to acting and modeling. MacGraw was noticed in two of her films and won the Golden Globe Award for Most promising newcomer. MacGraw's Love Story from 1970 was one of the biggest hits that gained fame to the world in addition to being an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award. With just three movies she was the highest-rated female box-office star across the globe. In Grauman's Chinese Theater in the year 1972, she got her handprints and signature engraved. She also appeared in The Getaway Convoy Players TV Miniseries The Winds of War, and other films. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, was published. MacGraw was married three times.
